Product and material selection
01What soldering and electronics-assembly materials does ASH supply?
ASH supplies solder paste, solder wire, solder bar and flux, together with cleaning agents, conformal coatings, peelable coatings, SMD red glue and thermal grease. The appropriate grade depends on your alloy, process, assembly and reliability requirements.
02Does ASH offer lead-free, halogen-free and leaded solder options?
Yes. The portfolio includes lead-free, halogen-free and selected leaded options, depending on the product family and grade. Ask for the current technical and compliance documents for the exact material you are evaluating.
03How do I choose the right solder paste?
Start with the required alloy, component pitch, stencil design, powder size, printing method, reflow profile, residue requirements and reliability target. Share those details with ASH so the team can identify grades to test on your line.
04How should solder wire or solder bar be selected?
For solder wire, consider alloy, wire diameter, flux-core content, joint geometry and manual or automated use. For solder bar, consider alloy, wave-soldering equipment, operating temperature, dross control and contamination management.
05How do I choose a flux?
Selection depends on the soldering process, PCB finish, activity level, residue requirement, cleaning method and electrical-reliability target. Do not mix fluxes or diluents unless the current product instructions expressly allow it.
Qualification and quality control
01Can I request technical data sheets, safety data sheets or SGS reports?
Yes. Available documents vary by product and grade. Selected SGS reports can be viewed in the resource library; contact ASH for the latest technical data sheet, safety data sheet and applicable compliance documents for your chosen material.
02How does ASH control product quality?
ASH uses a nine-step system covering incoming material inspection, production process control, in-process testing, first-article inspection, statistical process control, final inspection, packaging and labeling, traceability and continuous improvement.
03Are ASH solder materials traceable?
Lot and process records support traceability and investigation. The exact records and documents supplied depend on the product, grade and order requirements, so confirm them during qualification.
04Should website specifications be used for production approval?
No. Website specifications are a useful starting point, but production approval should use the latest product-specific technical data sheet, safety documentation, agreed specification and results from trials under your actual process conditions.
Samples, orders and support
01Can I request a sample before placing an order?
Yes. Share the product, application, process conditions and expected volume. Sample availability and format are confirmed after the team reviews the qualification project.
02What are the minimum order quantity and lead time?
Minimum quantities and lead times vary by material, grade, packaging, destination and production schedule. Request a quotation for a current answer tied to the exact product and delivery location.
03Can ASH support custom alloys, diameters or packaging?
Some alloy, wire-diameter, flux-content and packaging requirements can be reviewed. Feasibility, minimum quantity, validation and lead time are confirmed by ASH for each request.
04Does ASH support international buyers and distributors?
ASH serves international electronics-manufacturing markets through direct support and distributor relationships. Contact the team with your country, market and material requirements so the appropriate route can be confirmed.
05How can I get a material recommendation or troubleshooting help?
Send the alloy, process, equipment, component geometry, current defects, target market, compliance needs and production volume through the contact form. More process context helps the technical team give a more useful first response.
Storage and safe handling
01How should solder paste be stored and prepared for use?
Many ASH solder paste grades specify refrigerated storage at 0–10°C and a sealed return to room temperature for approximately 2–4 hours before opening. Requirements can differ by grade, so always follow the current label and technical data sheet.
02How long is the shelf life of ASH materials?
Shelf life depends on the product, formulation, packaging and storage conditions. Use the expiry information on the supplied product and its current documentation; do not rely on a general website statement for production release.
03What basic handling controls are recommended?
Keep materials identified, sealed and protected from contamination. Use clean dedicated tools, follow FIFO inventory control, record opening dates, provide suitable ventilation and personal protection, and never return used material to its original container.
Bring us the process, not just the part number.
Share your line conditions and reliability target so the ASH team can narrow the materials worth testing.
